videos from this weekend

We had another weekend of beautiful weather here and I was able to spend a lot of it enjoying Lucy.

First, she got her mane pulled:

Then on Saturday, we did a lot of flat work and then played with some very small jumps in the ring. She was not keen on the little itty bitty oxer, as you will see. Warning, I may or may not swear in this video ;) I wished I had a crop:

Then we moved down into the XC area and had a lot of fun:

Here are some photos from that day:

check out her crimpy tail. I conditioned and braided it the night before :)

ok....so I know I said I was going to stick to small jumps and obviously this
is not a "small" jump. All I can say is that it was the only one we hadn't jumped,
and she was being so great in the XC area. I am glad we jumped it.

This afternoon I set out on a trail ride and not far from the barn, I bumped into Kenny and Cairo! Kenny and I switched and he rode Lucy for a little while, which was great. Here are a couple of photos of them:

  2. She's such a punk, lol. Have you noticed she wants to kick up her heels when she jumps something new? I think it's less disobedience and more celebration. Not fun for you, I'm sure, but she looks like she's having a blast. That girl loves to jump!

    1. I haven't noticed a true pattern. Sometime's it's the new jumps. Sometimes it is the smaller jumps. She seems to get excited going up things, like the hill she bucked on, or this little tiny step jump.

    1. I just wish I rode her less defensively. I never know when she's going to try and send me flying, which is the problem.

  7. LOVING the new header. And can I just say that this post had me cracking up. Lucy is a hoot. I love that your hubby ( i assume ) has so many comments- he was killing me haha.

Great job on her. I love that you always keep your cool and totally forgive even when she gets a little dirty. I tend to take everything personal to some extent. I need some lessons! :)

    1. Yes, Coach Kenny was at it again! Haha. I do appreciate his support.

I need lessons too, BIG TIME. I do forgive her almost immediately, because she doesn't hold grudges against me.
