today's lesson

Instructor's Apprentice, aka the Barn Cat.

Lucy felt GREAT today. She was taking a nap in her paddock when I went to bring her in and so I didn't even bother lunging her. I figured if she was chillaxed enough to sleep in the sunshine, she would be ok under saddle.

I warmed her up on a long rein and she felt so nice and was really happy. She was looking around at things, taking big deep sighs, and stretching down at all three gaits. It was so lovely.

My instructor came out and we started the lesson. We worked on the same things we've been doing for the last few weeks but our tasks were stricter (as in, canter *now* and not in five strides or whenever I can manage it). We even attempted a walk/canter transition but Lucy loudly objected (videos to come later) so we decided to tackle that another day.
