After riding yesterday, Lucy was really hot. Nevermind that it was still in the low 80's at 6:30pm, but it was also about 73% humidity, so it felt like we were in a sauna. She was very sweaty so I hosed her off, and then like a nice horse mommy I thought she would like to roll, so I turned her out in the sand ring. Instead of rolling, she did this:
wheeeee!
I think she was having fun.
gazing at her love (a little Mustang who is so cute)
@ Sprinkler, YES my thoughts exactly. What a good horse. I think that shows a lot of maturity on her part! She must understand even if on a most basic level that she is expected to behave when I'm on her or around her. She can do whatever she wants in turnout!
Thanks Checkmark, but she had just gotten hosed off before these photos so a lot of that shine is because she's damp (I had scraped off the water). But her diet makes her shiny. She gets canola oil and sunflower seeds and both are known to add a bit of shine :) I also groom the heck out of her daily, and usually about once a week I'll spray her with coat conditioner and take a towel and massage it into her coat.
Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteoh, wow!! The picture that is 4th up from the bottome is GORGEOUS!! you need to blow that one up & frame it!

ReplyDeleteI seriously think she is the shiniest TB I have ever seen! How do you do that?
