I got brave.
Very brave.
As in, 2'11" brave.
I had tried cantering her in to a smaller jump and she got quite belligerent, so we ended up trotting most everything, including the 2'11" vertical. It was no problem for her at all!

Then the jump went up to almost 3'....eek! I Won't lie: the first time I went through it I totally grabbed mane, but she felt so smooth. |
She knocked the pole down a few times, but these standards don't even have jump cups on them, just little wooden "rests" for the pole, so the poles easily get knocked down. |
This was the last jump of the night. What a fantastic note to end it on! |
Ha! I think you definitely caught her by surprise with the landing rail the first time through! Too funny. The last few are great though! She has a very nice jumping style.
ReplyDeleteThat last picture is great. Totally good school!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos - especially the last one!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! Jumping is so fun! I can't wait until Scarface gets better at it.
ReplyDeleteWOW!! What great pics!! You musta had a blast!! Good job - both of you!!
ReplyDeleteI really like the second photo. It looks to me like she's a natural.
ReplyDeleteVery cute, always better to grab mane than to grab face! lol..even the upper level riders wear neck straps for the exuberant jumpers :) Looks like Lucy has lots of scope.
ReplyDeleteYou guys look great! Yay for being brave.
ReplyDeleteYou grabbed mane on the first time? Lol, I don't remember the last time I jumped without grabbing mane.
ReplyDeleteYou guys look great! I love the second shot and the last one, plus the hilarious crossrail leap.
Wow! You go, girls!

I think Lu has found her job. She's a natural at it, and from the look on her face, she clearly loves jumping! Good on you for being brave.
ReplyDeleteI want to start jumping again! So jealous! You both look great, like you were both loving every minute of it. :)
ReplyDeleteOh..miss jumping SO badly!!! You and Lu look great. I love the first photo where she's putting her legs out to the L and R and trying to figure it all out. The sequence shows her 'getting' it. She is lovely. Tons of talent in that one.
